Class Description

Our Climate is an organization dedicated to addressing the ongoing effects of climate change through advocacy, activism and community. On March 10th, at Waller Park in Tallahassee, the organization Our Climate will be assembling a manatee mosaic to put emphasis on the effects' climate change will be having in the years to come. The mosaic will be constructed with 1 by 1 ft recycled cardboard tiles. Then beginning on March 10th, the tiles will be used to fill a fabric covered outline of a manatee which can be seen by anyone passing through the capital. Our Climate is asking that Floridians from across the state aid in this effort. TRIBE is asking families to make tiles to aid the project. During the class, children can expect to learn about the ongoing effects climate change is having on manatees. Meanwhile, they will also be provided with 1x1 ft cardboard tiles that they can paint or drawn on as they like.
